Born 1976 in Copenhagen, Denmark. BA in comparative literature and rhetoric from Copenhagen University 2005. Graduated as Director from the “Super16” film school 2008. Master degree in modern cultural studies Copenhagen University 2009.
Within the last 10 years Mads has directed 10 short films. Films witch has participated and won prices at festivals like: Venice International Film Festival, Melbourne Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, London Film Festival, Tampere Film festival, Nordic Panorama, Cork Film Festival and Hawaii Film Festival.
Mads’ short film ”Mum” (2006) was selected for the 63. Venice Film Festival in the official program “Corto Cortissimo” 2006, and his film “Dennis” premiered in the competition program for short films at Sundance Film Festival 2008. “Dennis” later won the main price at Melbourne Film Festival (City of Melbourne Grand Prix, Best Short Film), and an Honorable Mention for Best Performance - Kim Kold, at CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival in Toronto.
“Dennis” was selected for the Sundance Film Festival “Art house project” witch took it on a tour around the united states, and the Worldwide Short Film Festivals “Canadian tour” witch took it all around Canada.
Beside his fictional work Mads has directed some commercials, radio montage and documentary films. At the moment Mads is working on his first feature film.
